Myanmar part three...

...the leprosy hospital in Mawlamyine.

Leprosy in that area is present, during our trip we visited some Buddhist temples orphanages and hospitals, in each visit we offered rice, drugs soap and toothpaste. The city of Mawlamyine is located around eight our by car eastward from Yangoon by the Matban sea, close to the Karen disctrict (where guerrilla is still active);

The condition of local are very poor and the nights are very dark (as everywhere in Myanmar), in the night when the temperature is a little bit fresher people stand in front of the sea the old couples with their sons, the young plaing guitar and the young couples kissing by the light of the moon;

Here some shoot i took in the hospital, despite i was authorized to take and to pubblish the pictures i prefer to hide the face of hopitalized people.

Excep the last person, infact this men now is totally cured and healt, but he prefers to keep on living in the hospital with his cat;

Sharin' Love.
Benjamin now despite is completly cured is still living in the leprosy with his cat (no name).PS look at the
cat's smile. This is hundred percent pet therapy.

Myanmar part one...

...Inle Lake

This is the most popular part of Myanmar and probably the most developed area too, the county now is  trying to get out from a period of incredibly hard isolation and phsychotic dictature. Very poor infrastucture,  only one railway line as lagacy from the English colonial period (anyway as usual the British weren't particoulary generous with this country) and ferw roads in good conditions.

In the society religion is very important and the Buddhist monks are supplying education creating hospitals and workhouses.
